The World's Best Fry Sauce?

Akabanga is insanely popular chili oil from Rwanda. It manages to pack a ton of smoky, hot flavor into just a couple of drops. That flavor pairs well with lots of foods—tacos, ramen, pizza— but we think we’ve found possibly the best use of Akabanga yet: to make what we’re calling the world’s best fry dipping sauce..

World’s Best Fry Sauce*


  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise

  • 2-3 drops of Akabanga

  • Dash of salt


In a small bowl, add two to three drops of Akabanga to the mayo. Stir to combine. Add the salt and adjust to taste. If it’s too hot, add more mayo. If you want a bigger kick, another drop of Akabanga should do it.
